The Albert Schweitzer Fellowship
The ASF is dedicated to training the next generation of professionals to serve and empower vulnerable people to build healthier communities and live healthier lives by hosting Fellows in a one-year program interdisciplinary, mentored fellowship program focused on health-related community service and leadership development.
We encourage prospective Fellows to approach us with project ideas that would utilize their unique skillset or perspective to advance the mission of HOMES Clinic. Examples include: distributing naloxone pens, generating educational materials, and hosting sessions to explain the risks of opioid overdose & fentanyl usage. A previous project involved a former Fellow leading focus groups to identify unique needs among women experiencing homelessness - and after identifying high rates of assault and feelings of insecurity, the fellow brought in martial arts instructors to teach methods of self-defense. You may also reach out to learn about our ongoing initiatives and where your interests and skillset may fit to provide new and innovative support within an existing effort.
